Unique Workouts You Need to Try

Beneficial Workouts

We have all felt bored of working out. Sometimes it feels like it’s the same thing over and over again. You go to the gym, lift weights, go home. You go for a run, go home. Sometimes you need to switch up your routine so that you can feel motivated again and again to exercise. Switching your routine will also help you avoid falling into a rut with your workouts. It will also help you to work muscles that are neglected if you stick to the same routine everyday. To help you get the most out of your workouts, here are some unique workouts that won’t fail to entertain.

1. Tire Flipping

When you think of tire flipping, you might think of massive bodybuilding, CrossFit, and other things that might deter you from trying the workout. It’s not something that you’ll find in the typical gym either. What it does is work posterior muscles like your hamstrings, back, and glutes. These muscles aren’t worked as often since we spend the majority of the day sitting on those muscles which lets them deteriorate faster than the muscles that line the front of our bodies like our quadriceps, chest, and abs. This also makes the workout ideal for people who spend most of their day sitting at work or school.

All you need for the workout is a tire. If you’re just starting out, you can use a medium tire—like the tire that you’d put on your Dodge Challenger 2019. This works even better since you can just use the spare tire that you have sitting in the back of the car and you won’t have to go out and buy new equipment for the exercise. If you are more advanced, you might want to consider visiting a CrossFit gym and use the larger tires that they will have on-hand for you.

2. Underwater Weightlifting

Another unique workout that you can try is underwater weightlifting. Though popular in some areas, the workout has yet to reach mainstream media. It’s used mainly for dedicated athletes to take their exercises to the next level and fully fatigue their bodies. It also takes the impact off the joints, which helps people to maintain better form when they’re lifting higher level weights.

All you need for it is a few weights and a pool. Then you have a few options. You can stand with your head above water and everything else submerged then exercise while being able to breathe for most of the workout. Or you can drop the weights to the bottom of the pool, dive down, pump out a few reps, and then come back to the surface. Both are great for your muscles and will help you to take a unique twist on your daily workouts.

3. Running in Water

You know the feeling. You know when you’re on a long run and your legs feel so tired that it feels as if you’re running through water? Well, the next exercise you should try is literally running through water. It provides amazing resistance to your muscles while keeping you cool at the same time. This helps you to push further since you have a constant splash of water that will stop you from overheating. It’s the perfect up-hill workout without actually running up a hill.

It’s a popular workout for Olympic athletes to do to help them to take a break from the constant pounding of running yet still give them a great workout. It’s also perfect for people who suffer from shin splints since the water will absorb most of the impact of your feet hitting the ground.

Conclusion

You should never feel like you're stuck in a rut when you’re working out. Take a break every now and again and do something other than going to the gym. You can work out at the pool, at home, or check out a CrossFit gym to get an amazing, unique workout that you can add to your daily routine.
