How to Meditate

Meditation has many good side effects for the human mind and body.

Do you ever have a hard time falling asleep at night? Do you have a lot of stress and not many ways to deal with it? There is a very simple medicine to fix all of these problems, that medicine is meditation. I refer to meditation as medicine because it will literally heal you. Physical and mental stress result in the production of the stress hormone cortisol. Cortisol is a very bad hormone and you want as little of it as possible. It can promote anxiety and depression. It can disrupt your sleep. It can even increase your blood pressure! People who meditate regularly say it helps with their stress. they feel this way because it slows or stop or brains from making cortisol and keeps us relaxed and proper.

Meditation is a true art form. It takes practice to get very good at, but once you master it you become a much calmer and relaxed person. You can meditate anywhere! I haven't fully described the proper way to meditate yet. If you are only beginning to attempt to meditate I recommend you go in a private area, perhaps your room, turn all of the lights of and sit or lay comfortably on your bed. Close your eyes and take a very deep breath, inhale through your nose and slowly exhale through your mouth. Focus on your breathing very intently. Feel what happens to your body with each breath you take and repeat. Try to slow your breathing down and take very long slow breaths. If any thoughts pop into your head instantly push them out. Meditation is a time to relax and disconnect so you must not think about anything. Don't think about what you have yet to get done, or what you did yesterday, but simply focus on your breathing and disconnect from every thought of the world. Forget what you are and just breath, become the universe and feel its power in your own mind.

Practice clearing your head of all thoughts and focus on your breathing daily and you will become a much more relaxed and down to earth person. You will also begin to witness an increase in self awareness, you will understand yourself better and this will allow you to begin to grow into the best version of yourself possible.

Meditating is at some times extremely hard. If you lack focus then meditation is the right thing for you. The focus required for meditation is a lot, this is why it may take some practice, but you will see with this practice that it will become easier and easier. The easier you are able to focus while meditating, the better you will be able to focus while doing anything. You will begin to use your breathing and find a flow state of focus where you are at your creative peak and the task you are working on is all that matters. Once this level of focus has been unlocked you will be able to maximize the results of your effort in life and fly past the competition. Meditation will help keep your mind young. If you are beginning to feel the effects of old age on your memory then meditation is just for you because it actually helps slow age related memory loss. Meditation can also help to improve the memory of dementia patients.

I think the best benefit of meditation is better sleep. Once you master meditation clearing your mind of thoughts becomes very easy. You will be able to clear your mind of racing or run-away thoughts that may keep us up and lead to insomnia. People who meditate have been found to fall asleep faster and stay asleep for longer. Mediation is free, quiet, and relaxing. It will immensely improve your life and begin to heal your mind. Begin to feel great all the time once you master the act of clearing your mind.
