Most people dream of building a healthy body that will make them attractive to others, but for most people those dreams will never come true. If you want your dream body to become a reality, then you need to put in the effort to make it happen. It will not happen overnight, but you can build your dream body with a lot of hard work and dedication. To help you make it happen, here are five tips you should follow to build your dream body.

1. Make realistic goals.

Nothing will derail your pursuit of your dream body faster than setting unrealistic goals. You can’t expect to lose weight or gain muscle faster than is actually possible no matter how hard your work. Most people are unaware of how long does it take to build muscle. With hardcore training, the most muscle you can expect to add is about two pounds a month under ideal circumstances.

2. Strength Training

If you want to attain your dream body, simply going to the gym is not enough. Lots of people go to the gym and just do cardio workouts on the treadmill, elliptical or stationary bike. While these workouts will improve cardiovascular fitness, they will do little to tone your muscles and give you the beach body you crave. Strength training is the only way that you will build the muscle you need to get a dream body.

3. Eat healthy.

It doesn’t matter how strong you get, you will never get the dream body you crave without proper nutrition. You have to eat a healthy, well-rounded diet if you want to lose fat and gain muscle. You need a diet that is high in lean protein sources, healthy fats and vegetables. Try to avoid carbs as much as possible, especially sugar and wheat.

4. Get lots of rest.

No matter how much you work out or how healthy you eat, you will not get the dream body you seek if you do not get enough rest. Your body uses the time you sleep to recover from your workouts and grow muscle. Aim for at least seven hours of sleep every night, but get as much as your body needs. Some folks will need to find time for eight or nine hours of sleep a night to optimize their results.

5. Mix it up.

You cannot continue to do the same workouts over and over again and expect the same results. Over time, your body adapts to your workout routine and becomes more efficient. You must continue to challenge your body with new workouts if you want to continue to keep losing weight and gaining muscle. In addition, changing up your workout routine regularly will keep you excited to keep exercising since you will avoid getting bored.

Creating your dream body is something you can do if you are patient and work hard. If you follow these five tips, you will be set up for success. Make sure to keep working towards your goal and don’t be hard on yourself if it takes longer than you think it will. Keep pushing, and you will overcome all obstacles and get that dream body you deserve.
