Some of these famous folks have used their ailment to further awareness and help educate anyone who will listen about the dangers surrounding food allergies.

An allergy is what happens when your body treats a substance like a foreign invader. It sends out chemicals to fight against the various substances and these chemicals cause various reactions; some of them can be deadly. This reaction is known as anaphylaxis. Epipens have become so common because they help ward off the effects of these deadly reactions. It is recommended that those with severe allergies carry two of these 'pens' with them at all times, in case the dose in the first isn't enough.

Here are some well known individuals who have learned to adapt their diets accordingly and if you suffer from the same food intolerances, at least now you know that you aren't alone. Unfortunately, it still won't get you on the cover of People Magazine.
