4 Ways on How to Relax

And give your body a rest!

Most of us are out working our 9-5 and not giving any thought on what we are doing to our bodies when we are working ourselves a lot, especially when we're always on the go and never really sitting down. Sometimes we don't even know it but our bodies are literally screaming for us to stop being on the go and just sit down for half a second and just not move. So always being on the go once it comes to my job I have found ways to not only relax and give my body a rest, but also give my mind a bit of a rest. I am going to share these tips with you so that hopefully both your body and mind can take it easy for a while.

Find a relaxing hobby.

Many of us pick up a hobby or two along the way to pass the time. Try to find a hobby that just lets you relax and just kind of forget everything for an hour or two. It can be something as simple as reading or just taking a nap honestly. If you're that type of person that's relaxed when they're moving and not just staying still, go work out at the gym or find something that keeps you active but makes you feel relaxed at the same time. For those of us who like to be stationary when they relax, try picking up a book or listen to relaxing music. And example of a hobby that is relaxing is crocheting, which happens to be my absolute favorite. I'm sitting down but at the same time my hands are busy and since crocheting is mostly muscle memory, it's very relaxing and I could just get lost in it for hours on end. And by the time I stop, I am so relaxed that I feel great. Like they say, when mama is happy, everyone is happy.

Meditating!

Studies have shown that when a person meditates both their body and mind are relaxed and balanced. If you're that kind of person that has a lot of things going on in their life, try meditating. You can do it first thing in the morning or last thing at night when you are at home, by yourself and nobody is around (or awake if you have a family). It's important that your body and mind are relaxed and balanced so that you can have a good day and be mentally prepared for the day. And when you're meditating, you should be in a state of peace where your body and mind are one. You can even do it during a storm where you draw energy from the storm and use it to meditate, I've seen it done before. So try meditating, your body and mind will thank you.

Listen to soothing music.

One of the surefire ways to relax even if it's just for an hour, listening to soothing music will hit the spot. I suggest sounds of nature, especially the ocean. This method of relaxation works by itself or pick up that relaxing hobby you picked up and just do that with the music for an hour. Soothing music also works if you are having trouble sleeping like I do sometimes. This method also works by itself, especially when you are outside in nature or just in your bedroom by yourself.

Go to your happy place!

Everybody has that one place where nothing can really bother them, where they are just completely zen. Go to that place once a week whether it be the beach, the mall, a bookstore, library, whatever. As long as it's just a place where you can relax and forget about your worries for a minute. If your happy place is a summer place like the beach (like mine) then go to your next best happy place, which for me is a museum where there is history since I absolutely love history. And you don't have to go alone, go with someone if you want to, as long as the person doesn't bring any drama while you're there. Go there once a week for an hour and a half. You'll feel like a new person and your body and mind will be ready for anything that comes its way.
